Who's On First

Take a break from all the anti-American Liberal Democrats.
"Illegitimus Non Carborundum"

Abbott and CostelloYou have to be old enough to remember Abbott and Costello, and too old to REALLY understand computers, to fully appreciate this. For those of us who sometimes get flustered by our computers, please read on...

If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch,
"Who's on First?" might have turned out something like this:

COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?

COSTELLO: Thanks. I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm thinking about buying a computer.

ABBOTT: Mac?

COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou.

ABBOTT: Your computer?

COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want to buy one.

ABBOTT: Mac?

COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou.

ABBOTT: What about Windows?

COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?

ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows?

COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look at the windows?

ABBOTT: Wallpaper.

COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software.

ABBOTT: Software for Windows?

COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to write proposals, track expenses and run my business.
What do you have?

ABBOTT: Office.

COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything?

ABBOTT: I just did.

COSTELLO: You just did what?

ABBOTT: Recommend something.

COSTELLO: You recommended something?

ABBOTT: Yes.

COSTELLO: For my office?

ABBOTT: Yes.

COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office?

ABBOTT: Office.

COSTELLO: Yes, for my office!

ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows.

COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows!
OK, let's just say I'm sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need?

ABBOTT: Word.

COSTELLO: What word?

ABBOTT: Word in Office.

COSTELLO: The only word in office is office.

ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.

COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows?

ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue "W".

COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue "w" if you don't start with some straight answers?
What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I can track my money with?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: I need money to track my money?

ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer.

COSTELLO: What's bundled with my computer?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer?

ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge.

COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much?

ABBOTT: One copy.

COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money?

ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money.

COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money?

ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT!

(A few days later)

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?

COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off?

ABBOTT: Click on "START..."

A Sheriff Enforces the Law

You probably know him as "America's Toughest Sheriff", a name given to him by the media years ago. It's a name he certainly has earned as the head of the nation's fourth largest Sheriff's Office. But even before he became Sheriff in 1993, Joe Arpaio was one tough law man. More

Arpaio enforces immigration laws and locks up illegals. When asked why few other law enforcement leaders are following his lead, Arpaio surmised,
“They can’t take the heat.”<-Must be Presidente Arbusto's problem.

Urge Congress to Say No to New Internet Taxes

Take Action: Contact Your Members of Congress Today
Tax-hungry politicians at the state and local levels are salivating at the chance to tax the Internet.

Taxes on e-mails. Taxes on downloads. Multiple and discriminatory taxes on every purchase made over the World Wide Web. Even taxes just for accessing the Internet.

All of that can become a reality if Congress doesn't extend or make permanent the current Internet tax moratorium before it expires on November 1. Contact your Members of Congress now.

HILLARY OR KARL MARX?

During the last Democratic debate, Tim Russert sandbagged Hillary with a move usually reserved for Republicans… It’s just a matter of time before we find him at room temperature in Ft. Marcy Park… The Washington Post has already thrown Russert under the bus.

Hillary or Karl Marx?
"We are going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

"It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, for the few, and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity

"We can't just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people."

"We have to build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own turf in order to create this common ground."

"I certainly think the free market has failed."

"I think it's time to send a clear message to what has become the most profitable sector in the entire economy, that they are being watched."

"What I want to do is take those profits and apply them to alternative energy."

None of those seven things were said by Karl Marx or Frederick Engels. These were all stated by Hillary Clinton, comrades...

DREAM Act Amnesty pulled from Defense bill

Another victory for U.S. citizens
Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Harry "We Can't Win" Reid (D-Nev.) announced that the DREAM Act would not be considered as an amendment to H.R. 1585, the Defense Department authorization bill for fiscal year 2008.
The Washington Times reports, however, that Reid will push for passage of the DREAM Act, which would grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, by different means (possibly in its stand-alone form [S. 774, sponsored by Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin {D-Ill.}]) before the Senate adjourns for the year (i.e., on or about November 16). Reid's concession on the DoD authorization bill may doom other immigration-related amendments to the defense bill as well. firesociety.com/blog/

Rudy hits N.Y. Times, Hillary and MoveOn.org

In one of the more transparent stunts of the 2008 presidential race, Giuliani began the day by accusing The Times of selling the Democrat-friendly MoveOn.org a "heavily discounted" ad on Monday that cast U.S. commander Gen. David Petraeus as "General Betray Us."

Republican candidates have blasted the ad as an unpatriotic smear of a revered general, and yesterday Republican Giuliani accused The Times, MoveOn.org and Democratic presidential foe Clinton - who has refused to denounce the ad - of engaging in "character assassination." NY Daily News

Jimmy Carter's War Against the Jews

By Frontpagemag.com
It was almost exactly five years ago that Jimmy Carter was awarded a Nobel Peace prize for his grandstanding attacks on his country and his president in the run-up to the Iraq war.

But it is Israel, a small democratic nation amidst a sea of hostile dictatorships, that has been the object of Carter's most enduring obsessions and the target of his most unscrupulous slanders.

Our newest flash video,
"Jimmy Carter's War Against the Jews," lays bare this aspect of Carter's political career in devastating detail. Based on a pamphlet by Jacob Laksin, the video powerfully refutes the lies that Carter has spread about the Jews and Israel in his many books and speeches.

Point by point, the video explodes Carter's duplicitous claims about Israeli policies and the Jewish state's treatment of Palestinian Arabs. Contrary to his cultivated image as an international peacemaker, the video shows Carter to be a world-class hypocrite, harping endlessly on Israel's supposed flaws while averting his gaze from the tyrannies that populate the Middle East, all the while pocketing generous contributions from Arab despots. It is a devastating portrait of the real Jimmy Carter. Having seen it, you will never look at the 39 th president the same way.

AssHoles of the world / The Loony Left

The Loony Left Has Found Their Candidate
But what leader could possibly fill the bill for American lefties? Why, Osama bin Laden, of course. The world's most famous terrorist has delivered a new message, via videotape, much of it to the American people.

Bin Laden rambles through his latest screed reciting the same kind of nonsense made famous by America haters across the Internet and even in public life. He blathers on about how Donald Rumsfeld was somehow responsible for killing two million people in Vietnam. He tells us how concerned he is about America's sub-prime mortgage "crisis." He blames the U.S. for global warming. He criticizes congressional Democrats for continuing the war in Iraq and warns that America will lose. He invites us all to embrace Islam. And most important, he excoriates the American people for electing George W. Bush to a second term, telling us that we are "not innocent."

Osama bin Laden embodies everything liberal Democrats love in a leader. In fact, if he were standing on the stage at one of their presidential debates, spouting the same ideas he put forth in his latest video, he would be a bona fide hit among their base.

Yes, the loony left has finally found their candidate. By Doug Patton

Disgraced Senator Expected to Resign Today

It seems he wants to ride out "The I'm queer bus."
Although some have thrown him under it.
Why isn't Barney thrown under "The I'm queer bus?"
That's right--It's OK for a Democrat to be queer.
Well, their symbol is the ASS.

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Larry Craig, the foot-tapping Republican from Idaho, reportedly plans to resign on Friday, just as the long holiday weekend begins. The report comes from "several well-placed GOP sources," CNN said. Craig apparently decided he can't ride out the political storm over his alleged homosexual advances to an undercover policeman in a Minneapolis airport bathroom. Earlier this month, Craig pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct and never told anyone about it. A number of Republicans, after considering Craig's indignant protestations of innocence ("I am not gay!"), have urged him to leave the Senate. He's already been stripped of his committee assignments, and an ethics investigation was expected.

Debunking the gullible warming Gorons

Correcting the record

Most of the evidence concerning U.S. temperature trends is collected by NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center, which gathers information from about 1,200 weather observation stations across the nation. These stations are small wooden sheds with thermometers, which are read at intervals, mostly by volunteers. Many are located in sprawling urban and industrial centers, known as “heat islands,” and are subject to higher readings than stations in rural areas where temperatures are subject mostly to “land use effects.”

Most of the recent global-warming alarmists use 1998 as the benchmark for the hottest year on record, but it turns out that their reporting is flawed, the result of a math blunder.

In fact, 1934 was the hottest year on record, and four of the ten hottest years in the U.S. were recorded in the 1930s. The second hottest year on record was 1998, but the third hottest was 1921, not 2006. Notably, six of the ten hottest years occurred prior to 90 percent of the economic growth associated with increased greenhouse-gas emissions. Read the article
Quote of the week
“The world meat industry produces 18 percent of the world’s greenhouse-gas emissions, more than transportation produces. A gallon of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream requires electricity guzzling refrigeration, and four gallons of milk produced by cows that simultaneously produce eight gallons of manure and flatulence with eight gallons of methane. The cows do this while consuming lots of grain and hay, which are cultivated by using tractor fuel, chemical fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides, and transported by fuel-consuming trains and trucks.” —George Will

Income Redistribution File: IRS loses

A lawyer who has refused to pay taxes for a decade recently won against the Internal Revenue Service in a challenge to prove that the nation’s income tax has a constitutional foundation. A jury in U.S. District Court in Louisiana unanimously found Tommy Cryer of Shreveport not guilty on two counts of failure to file. He had been indicted on misdemeanor charges alleging he evaded payment of $73,000 to the IRS in 2000 and 2001. Cryer claims that prior to the trial the prosecution dismissed two additional felony charges of tax evasion. “The court could not find a law that makes me liable or makes my revenues taxable,” he said. “The Supreme Court has ruled that the government cannot impose an income tax on anything but the profits and gains. When you work for someone you give your service and labor in exchange for money, so everything you make is not profit or gain. You put something into it.” The next step in the case will be up to the IRS if they should choose to appeal, Cryer said. WorldNetDaily.com

Liberals with short memories.

Emptying the Humidor
By David Hogberg
I've often wondered exactly how severe is Congress's case of historical amnesia. In late 2005 we found out that many members of Congress clearly couldn't remember anything previous to 1980, as witnessed by their call for 1970s-type price controls on oil. But last week we learned that Congress's historical amnesia is much worse than anyone feared. Clearly it extends back to as recently as the early 1990s.

Nineteen-ninety was the dreadful year in which President George H.W. Bush abandoned his "Read my lips, no new taxes" pledge to cut a deal with Congressional Democrats to increase taxes. Among the new taxes created by that deal was an excise tax on "luxury items." This "luxury tax" was imposed on goods such as jewelry, furs, and yachts. It was subsequently repealed in 1993 after proving to be nothing short of an economic and policy disaster.

Unfortunately, Congress never bothered to consider that increasing the tax on these items, and thereby increasing the price of those items, might change the behavior of said rich people. (Indeed, many members of Congress stubbornly refuse to ever acknowledge that taxes ever affect behavior.) But said rich people had other ideas. If the price of jewelry, furs, and yachts suddenly increased, then maybe purchasing a winter home in Florida seemed like a much better deal. Or maybe those rich people would take a shopping trip to other parts of the world, where the price of jewelry, furs, and yachts were now much more competitive thanks to the U.S. Congress. Contiued

"Jihad Bee" Calls for Child Martyrs on Hamas TV
The latest character on the children’s show Tomorrow’s Pioneers on Hamas’s Al-Aqsa television station is Nahool the Bee, who encourages young children to follow “[the path] of Jihad” and to become "Jihad warriors" in order to "liberate Al-Aqsa from the filth of the criminal Jews."
Hamas kindergarten graduationHamas kindergarten graduation ceremony
Recently, footage was shown on Hamas TV of Arab children graduating from a kindergarten in Gaza. In the video, the children are seen marching in formation while holding machine guns and then dropping to the floor, crawling on their bellies and vowing to become terrorists when they grow up.

Congress Sinks To Worst Rating Ever / Sawyer

Sawyer Learns The Truth Hurts
On Good Morning America last Thursday, Diane Sawyer showed the isolation liberal media types live in. In a personal aside to a story about people who avoid jury duty, she said: “You know, I wanted to sit on a jury once and I was taken off the jury. And the judge said to me, ‘Can, you know, can you tell the truth and be fair?’ And I said, ‘That’s what journalists do.’
And everybody in the courtroom laughed.
It was the most hurtful moment I think I’ve ever had.”

One-Child ‘Terror Campaign’ Continues in China

Riots have broken out in a number of Chinese towns in protest over the Communist government’s policy of limiting families to one child — a campaign that has included the forced termination of late-term pregnancies.
Boxer
Steven Mosher, president of the pro-life Population Research Institute, said that in 1979-80, he witnessed local officials in Guangdong province arresting hundreds of pregnant women and aborting their fetuses against their will — even if they were already in labor. LifeSite.net

Clinton Hypocrisy Pardon Me But,

Anybody who watched presidential spokesman Tony Snow face a pack of snarling White House press corps correspondents following President Bush’s commutation of Scooter Libby’s prison sentence will understand the meaning of the word hypocrisy

These are the very same media hacks who turned a blind eye to Clintonista Sandy Berger stuffing national security documents in his socks, stealing them from the National Archives and destroying them and then getting nothing more in the way of punishment than a mere slap on the wrist.

Then there was Mrs. Hillary Clinton, who had the gall to issue a statement saying, "Today's decision is yet another example that this Administration simply considers itself above the law. This case arose from the Administration's politicization of national security intelligence and its efforts to punish those who spoke out against its policies. Four years into the Iraq war, Americans are still living with the consequences of this White House's efforts to quell dissent. This commutation sends the clear signal that in this Administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice."

Said Tony Snow: "I don't know what Arkansan is for chutzpah, but this is a gigantic case of it."

Here, after all, is the wife of a president who all but peddled pardons to an assortment of felons and miscreants including one malodorous fugitive from justice who had renounced his American citizenship.
By Michael Reagan Article Contnued

The Clintons' Cronyism Circus
Former President Bill Clinton and Sen. Hillary Clinton are absolutely outraged that President Bush granted executive clemency to Scooter Libby, recently convicted of making false statements under oath.

They obviously believe that Libby should serve his 30 month sentence.

Does that mean that they now think that perjurers should go to jail? Or have they simply forgotten about Bill Clinton's own plea agreement in the last hours of his presidency — for making false statements under oath?

Some people would call that perjury.
Do the Clintons Now Support Jail Time For Perjurers? By Dick Morris
