Wesley Autrey saw someone in big trouble and called on the one person he could count on to help in a snap: himself.
Autrey, a 50-year-old construction worker in New York, is being hailed as "the hero of Harlem" for his death-defying rescue of a 19-year-old man recently from oncoming subway trains.
Autrey could have stood by and let the worst happen. But, he risked his own life to save someone else's.
Since then, he's been showered with accolades and gifts and sought after for national TV appearances. Donald Trump rewarded him with $10,000, the New York Film Academy gave him college scholarship starter money for his daughters, and he received a year's worth of free subway rides.
